Oy! I finally made it back from Atlanta yesterday. I was supposed to get in Monday night at 10:30PM, but there were too many forces working against me. It all began with a delayed Flight and a two hour ride back up to Dracut (which is still an hour and a half from my house) and only ended after I found my car thoroughly nestled into an ice-capped snow bank which would take me all of an hour and a half to liberate it from on Tuesday morning.

The actual trip, though, was a blast. I can't say that I've ever gotten the first class treatment while traveling, but this was definitely a top notch treat. My cousin Dave came along for my brother's graduation (it's a huge deal when a family member becomes a doctor) so I kinda knew this trip would be different. He's the only guy I know that gets Valet Parking at Avalon--mind you, this is a club in Boston that doesn't even offer Valet Parking! lol. He just shows up in his Hummer and they take care of the rest. It's a hoot.

Our hotel room was actually a two-room suite with one of only two balconies in the entire place. Our rental was a top of the line Caddy DeVille. It was kinda funny, but we ended up with our own parking spot right out front of the Hotel for the whole trip because Dave "took care of" the Valet. We ate out at really nice restaurants including this AWESOME place called Fogo de Chau which was a meat-lover's Paradise. You pay one price and then a troupe of Brazillian servers bring out course after course of food including 18 different cuts of meat ranging from Fillet Mignon to Leg of Lamb to Pork to Chicken. Vegetarians beware! This place was Carnivorous! For someone like me who survived on a 10 pound bag of potatoes, Ramen Noodles and Pasta for 7 months while working for Disney, this was total indulgence.

Of course, nothing could top the fact that we were there to see my brother graduate. Chris is such a cool guy. Every time I see him, I can't help but wish he was home. He is loved by everyone he meets. I swear we couldn't go to get gas or go shopping or do anything down there without people knowing him and shooting out a friendly Hello to him like he was a member of their family. It's very cool.

So the Holidays are soon upon us. I love this time of year, but it's an all out marathon session between now and January 1st. My Christmas begins this Sunday with a visit to my mom's and only end's the following Sunday with a Huge party for my extended family. I swear sometimes that it would just be easier for my family to covert to Judaism. 8 Days of partying during Hanukah was catered for my family's needs.
