What to write...what to write...

It's been a while since I've stared at a blank screen, scratching my head, wondering just what it plans to reveal about me this time around.

First a bit of an update with LEGO. Since the Master Builder Competition, life has pretty much returned to normal. No longer do I need to worry about screaming fans following me around Wal-Mart--hanging on each reach of my arm to see what sets a potential Master Model Builder might buy...lol, yeah, right. It's my imagination; I can enjoy it any way that I want ;)

Yup, LEGO may not be a part of my job, but I've discovered that it will always be a part of my life. And that's a good thing. Just this past month alone I contributed to a display for the Greenberg train show and for a very cool gig for National Geographic in New York City. The Nat.Geo. thing was really special because it was so different and so well produced. There were only five of us who went on the overnight trip. Our theme was Mega Structures, and we had a blast with it. During the 4 hour show, we managed to build the Coliseum, two skyscrapers, a mini pyramid and the Golden Gate Bridge. It was also the first time that I was able to give a preview of my new Free Fall ride which is the first structure to challenge Jonathan's yellow skyscraper as the tallest structure on our display. Boy oh boy, he was nervous about that. I can definitely see him adding a few more stories just to maintain the title...

I got a curious email from a gentleman named James Knight who works in Los Angeles for LEGO as a Design Manager. He said that he found out about my journal while at his sister-in-law's wedding in Australia. He wrote just to encourage me a bit that there are other lego fish in the sea. Again I was reminded how new opportunities present themselves everday for those who make the effort to look up and see them rather than down and miss them. It was a cool surprise which really made me smile. It was definitely one of those emails that I had to show off to the family.

Besides LEGO, I'm still trying my hand at carpentry. This weekend I get to put in hardwood floors at my brother's house. It's gonna look awesome when we're done. The room is 30x30 and will almost double the size of his house. I've been dying to finally help him out for a change considering how much he's done for me in the past. I think I've mentioned it before, but It's worth saying again. My brothers, sister, mom and dad are my best friends. I just don't know where I'd be without them.

On the home front, I'm still single, still mixing three to six different breakfast cereals every morning, and still laughing at myself every time I get excited because a late-night infomercial makes sense.

It's been raining here for the last 24 hours and won't be stopping til the beginning of next week. I'm thinking this is a great opportunity to do a little spring cleaning around the apartment and in my life. I've got big plans for when the sun returns. Until then, I'll try to figure out just why the neighborhood church is building that ark...
