Greetings!

I'm hoping to purchase a Mindstorms set for my son aged nine for Christmas. I would prefer to purchase it second hand, and currently, on Craigslist in my area, there are two sets for sale. One is an NXT, and the other is an NXT 2.0.

The first has been opened, and they are asking $295. The guy selling it bought it for his daughter, and she hasn't played wiht it. He didn't realize that there was a new version out, so when I spoke with him, he agreed that he was asking too much. I am wondering what a fair price would be to offer him? Any ideas?

The Nxt 2.0 that I found is NIB, and they are asking 300. Is this a fair price considering that I won't have a receipt or any recourse if it doesn't work, even though it's new?

Is the 2.0 that much better that should I forget about trying to haggle over the first one and just go for the 2.0?

Ever since I saw Geordi's picture in the Riker Blog, I'm always thinking of new subjects for 99 problems. Today I caught doolies knitting a sweater.

me: "If you're having purl problems, I feel bad for you hon. I got 99 problems but a stitch ain't one."

doolies: "You are great."

...so why am I not tired?

I am, in fact, feeling more energetic this morning than I have in weeks.

I'm just *waiting* for it to get to me later on in the day. Oh well. Must get on with it.

Busy couple of weeks. I'll bullet-point it:

• First I went out to Pasadena with weiskind to attend her sister's wedding.
  
• While there, I rented a new Mustang. I didn't really like it. Boring handling, poor visibility.
  
• While there I also finally went to Chandra with Vauxelle and Jeff, which I'd planned to do for years but never managed. Afterwards we went to the cupcake store next door. Cupcakes rule!
  
• Then I Mustanged away, cupcake in hand, to go see kittenrae and Adam. We played Ingenious and then Rae showed me her creepy mccreepington Sims 3 family.
  
• Then off to the wedding! And the reception, where weiskind made a great impromptu speech.
  
• Next day, weiskind and I Mustanged away to breakfast with ponycore and her hot new thing, which finally solved the mystery of why she's been so excited about this hot new thing. Also I got a shoebox full of Lego.
  
• Then across downtown for Thai massages with sejira, and then to Curry House over in J-town. Scraps was too sick to come, hotus didn't answer his phone, and Pablo tried to come out but just got lost in Santa Monica somewhere. So it was just the three of us.
  
• Then, Mustang away! Back to return the car and a quick flight to see Natasha.
  
• Then I had the flu for awhile. I went to work anyway, to maximize the spread of disease.
  
• Once I recovered, it was off to an early Wednesday Thanksgiving at Diana and Cheryl's place, where we had fondue and a chocolate fountain and played Spy Trackdown.
  
• Then Thanksgiving Thanksgiving was at sistersolace's place, where there was turkey and stuffing and like five different pies and we played Lego Rock Band. But, my throat was still too messed up from having recently had the flu, so my singing was ruined!
  
• Then we played Munchkin and as a side effect I've had "Only in Kenya" stuck in my head ever since and it's DRIVING ME CRAZY.
  
• And then on Friday I picked up doolies from the airport and she'll be off to the henna party tomorrow.

...and I think that's everything. I got photos of almost none of these events.
